I oftentimes ask myself, are there any honest people anymore, who genuinely want to be upfront with you and straight forward? It is a question that is reverted back to me sometimes. How honest am I with others? How honest am I with myself? Does being honest mean we jeopardize who we really are by letting down our guards and revealing our true feelings openly? I believe the problem is that we set up expectations by default in the hopes that we will receive the same kind of treatment in return. Most times the reality is not what we expect, then we are left with disappointments and sadly with a broken heart.
We need to stop setting ourselves up for disappointments. Once we realize that expectations are superficial, only then we can learn to appreciate the other person for who they are, without the underlining of self proclaimed assumptions we are guilty of doing so many times. So tell me how honest are you?

Honestly been honest sometimes been honest is difficult then it seems. As they say ‘truth hurts’
But saying it helps a person grow. Been honest to yourself or to others. It’s all part of development.
